It would be helpful to bring any relevant documents related to your legal matter, such as contracts, leases, or court documents. Additionally, if you have any questions or concerns, it would be beneficial to write those down beforehand so that you don't forget to ask them during your meeting.


The cost of  legal services varies depending on the complexity of your legal matter  I offer transparent and fair pricing. I usie a sliding scale, 3 tier method.  This will  provide you with an estimate of our fees based on your income before we begin working on your case.


 Most adults should have a will because it is the most common way to ensure your property is distributed according to your wishes, name an executor, and appoint guardians for minor children, rather than leaving those decisions to state law.


Power of Attorney, which is a legal document giving one person, called the agent or attorney-in-fact, the authority to act on behalf of another person, called the principal, in legal, financial, or medical matters. 


 (POA) is a legal document that authorizes a trusted person to make financial and legal decisions on your behalf, while an Advance Directive (like a Living Will) specifies your health care or treatment preferences if you become unable to communicate them yourself. 


  is a formal, written notice from a landlord to a tenant demanding that the tenant vacate the rental property by a specific date, usually due to non-payment of rent, a lease violation, or non-renewal of the lease. 1st step before a judge orders a legal eviction. 


 if you receive a lease violation, you should immediately review your lease to understand the specific term you allegedly violated, document the situation with evidence, and respond to the landlord in writing to either resolve the issue or dispute the claim, seeking legal advice if necessary. 


Your landlord is likely violating your rights if they fail to provide a habitable living space (like functioning heat or water), enter your apartment without proper notice, or uses their key to gain entry without a true emergency. (Fire and water flood) or attempt illegal "self-help" evictions, all of which are usually outlined by state and local laws and the lease agreement.


 If you are being harassed by your landlord, you should meticulously document every incident (dates, times, descriptions), send a formal written notice demanding the behavior stop, and consider contacting your local housing authority, a tenant rights organization, or a lawyer for legal assista nce.


 Pro se is a Latin term meaning "for oneself" or "on one's own behalf," and in a legal context, it refers to a litigant who represents themselves in court without the assistance of an attorney.


 Your first and most crucial step is to seek help from a trusted source, such as a local shelter, a friend, or by contacting the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233), where advocates can help you create a safety plan and connect you with local resources. 


 

  • Legal Aid Organizations: These non-profit organizations, many of which are funded by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), provide free civil legal services to low-income Americans and can be searched by location via the LSC website or the comprehensive LawHelp.org platform.
  • Pro Bono Programs: Many state and local bar associations, as well as private law firms, sponsor pro bono programs, which match low-income clients with volunteer lawyers who agree to take cases for free; the American Bar Association (ABA) also runs Free Legal Answers, a virtual legal advice clinic for eligible individuals.
  • Specialty Legal Clinics: Free or reduced-fee services are also available through specialized sources, such as law school clinics, legal services focused on specific groups like veterans or seniors (check the Eldercare Locator), and non-profit organizations that focus on single issues like domestic violence or immigration
